Home Alone 5: The Holiday Heist

 

Ten-year old Finn Baxter and his family move from California to Maine and settle into their new house. Finn, along with his older sister, Alexis, obsess over technology and refuse to do anything with their parents or socialize with anyone else. Finn befriends a girl named Mason who tells him about the legend of a ghost that haunts the house Finn and his family had moved into.
Meanwhile, a pair of thieves named Sinclair and Jessica, along with their new safecracker, Hughes, plan to break into the Baxters' new house to steal a valuable painting hidden inside; completely unaware of the fact that the family had already moved in. When the family goes out shopping the next day; the thieves break into the house, going straight to a hidden safe in the basement. However, before they could locate the painting, the Baxters return and the thieves are forced to flee. As Sinclair leaves, he notices the invitation Mrs. Baxter received for a Christmas party that night, and plans to return again while they are gone. Sinclair then later confides in Jessica and Hughes that the painting they're looking for is The Widow, a portrait of his great-grandmother and her family that was stolen over a hundred years ago. He also mentions that the price of the painting is $85 million, which then later makes his companions want more of the share once the job is complete.
Back at the Baxters' house, Mrs. Baxter and her husband are ready to go to the Christmas party, arranged by her new boss, and they find that her children aren't dressed and are more focused on video games and cell phones. Fed up, she decides to leave them at home while she and her husband go, leaving Alexis's cell phone for emergency calls only. However a snowstorm that gets progressively worse eventually forces Finn's parents to stay at the Christmas party until it clears up.
Meanwhile, Finn runs amuck in the house and violates his mother's rule of not playing video games while they were gone. When the controller he found has a low battery, he gets new ones but drops one down the basement steps. He and Alexis go down into the basement to find the safe, which was unlocked from earlier and discover a secret room with the painting Sinclair is looking for. After scaring Finn, Alexis triggers a trap which locks her in the room. When Finn finds out what happened to her, he goes to a hardware store to buy tools to break her out.
After he leaves the store, only able to purchase twine, he accidentally runs into Sinclair and immediately realizes that he heard him earlier that night and not a ghost. He overhears their plan to break into the house and rushes home to set up some traps like pouring a bucket of water on the front steps (a trap from the original Home Alone film), a big glass bowl of egg nog, and a stocking full of coal, spilling Christmas marbles spread out in the garage and setting up a snow blower to shoot out the marbles, Christmas wrap along with tape, placing a container of tar above a window, a plate of nasty-tasting gingerbread men with a glass of milk (glue), and if one of the crooks tries to use the sink, pillow feathers and flour.
Finn tells Simon, a young man going to college who spends most of his time playing video games, that there are thieves trying to break into the house. At first, Simon doesn't realize that Finn is serious, but then he gets concerned and contacts Finn's parents, who are coming back to the house. The parents, however, think that Simon kidnapped Finn and Alexis and call the police on him. Meanwhile, back at the house, Finn runs out of booby traps and is captured by the burglars. They lock Finn in their van and Jessica guards him while the other two crooks go back inside to open the safe. Mason, however, saves Finn by throwing snowballs at Jessica, eventually knocking her out. Finn escapes to save Alexis and Mason is left to deal with Jessica, encasing her inside a snowman. The burglars succeed in opening the safe a second time and find the painting and Alexis who threatens to destroy it. Finn makes it for Plan B and frees his sister while locking Sinclair and Hughes in the basement. In the end, the criminals go to jail, the family gets $30,000 as a reward for capturing the criminals, and Simon is sent a plane ticket to go back home and spend Christmas with his family.
On Christmas morning, Finn receives a snowboard and an expansion pack to his video game for Christmas. Finn, however, decides to take a break from video games and go snowboarding. Finn is last seen having a snowball fight with Mason before they walk off to go snowboarding together. In the final scene at the police station, the criminals are taking their mugshots as one of the police officers splices a copy of the mugshots into a portrait shot.

At the McCallisters' house, Peter (Jason Beghe) is about to get divorced from Kate (Clare Carey) and announces that he's living with his new and rich girlfriend Natalie (Joanna Going) at her mansion. He tells his three children Buzz (Gideon Jacobs), Megan (Chelsea Russo), and Kevin (Mike Weinberg) that they are hosting the visit of a royal family and invites everyone to spend Christmas with him and Natalie. After initially refusing, Kevin takes his father up on his offer after being tormented by Buzz.
Kevin enjoys his time at Natalie's mansion with his new bedroom, latest gadgets and his life. In the next morning, Natalie and Peter go out for a bit while Kevin stays at the mansion with Natalie's butler Mr. Prescott (Erick Avari) and maid Molly (Barbara Babcock). While Prescott makes Kevin a milkshake, he goes into the security room and gets caught by Prescott who gives Kevin another chance. With Natalie and Peter still away, Kevin notices his old nemesis Marv (French Stewart), a remaining member of the Wet Bandits and new sidekick and wife Vera (Missi Pyle) outside the house. Kevin tries to get Mr. Prescott to answer the intercom, but unfortunately it doesn't work because Marv altered the security system. He then spies on them and drive them away by flooding the house, but Peter and Natalie arrive while Kevin is cleaning up and don`t believe Kevin's explanation especially since Prescott claims to have seen nothing. Kevin then attempts to use the security camera footage to prove himself, but discovers that the camera had been turned off and is caught by Prescott, who Kevin now believes to be Marv and Vera's ally. Molly then appears and gets Kevin out of trouble. Peter and Natalie then realize they gave Kevin a hard time and decide to make him feel better, so the three of them decide to decorate the tree.
The next morning Peter and Kevin wake up and realize their tree was re-decorated because of Natalie. Kate, Buzz and Megan then decided to visit Kevin. Kate meets Natalie in person and Kevin shows the entire house to Buzz and Megan. At a party for the royal family while Peter and Natalie have gone to pick them up, Kevin notices Marv and Vera dressed up as caterers. Mr. Prescott warns Kevin about the night so he then tricks Mr. Prescott into going into the freezer room and he ends up locked in and frozen in ice. Kevin then spies on Marv and Vera in his bedroom and hears them planning about kidnapping the royals. Unfortunately for them, Kevin makes sure that their plan was a failure and has them fall out and break the window. The royal family are unable to attend the party because their flight was cancelled, so Peter and Natalie instead announce their engagement. Marv and Vera run back into the house and Kevin hits Marv with a frying pan, flips the table and get soup spilled on Marv and Vera. They then chase Kevin, causing him to accidentally ruin the party. Peter is angered at this event, still refusing to believe Kevin about the break-in, he believes that Kevin is trying to end his relationship with Natalie.
Since no one believes him about the heist, Kevin decides to deal with matters himself, and sets booby traps for Marv and Vera. The next morning Peter and Natalie go get the royals and Kevin is left back at the house. Marv and Vera wake up and head to the house. Kevin tricks and locks Mr. Prescott in the basement, but then he discovers Marv and Vera's real ally is actually Molly who also turns out to be Marv's mother as well. Kevin gets locked in the basement with Mr. Prescott where he learns that he only erased the video because he hates his job and that during the times Natalie is away he takes secret breaks which if caught would lead Natalie to order him with more work hours; he erased the video to cover up his secret well-deserved breaks not to help Marv and Vera. After apologizing to Mr. Prescott for misjudging him (and vice-versa), Kevin tries to call Buzz using Prescott's phone but he just jeers and hangs up on him; he then tries to call his mom but they get disconnected and when calling the house Kate is told by a lying Molly that Kevin is with Peter; when Kate calls Peter about Kevin he denies this causing both Kate and Peter to become suspicious.
During these calls, Kevin loses power on Prescott's phone and with help from Prescott manages to escape through the dumbwaiter. He then traps Marv under the dumbwaiter and unleashes his traps on Marv and Vera. Molly hears the commotion and tries to stop Kevin resulting in Kevin trapping her in the elevator. At the airport, Peter's suspicions about the confusion about Kevin gets him worried about Kevin and leaves Natalie to get the royal prince as he goes back to Natalie's mansion to check on him. Back in the basement, Mr. Prescott then manages to escape through the dumbwaiter as well wanting to see if Kevin is alright. Just on the road, Kate, Buzz and Megan are on their way to save Kevin as well since Kate also was suspicious. Marv heads to the bedroom and ends up getting caught and stuck under the bookshelf. Kevin then plays a recording of Marv, making it sound like he's insulting Vera, which causes her to break up with him and argue. Marv then gets hit by Kevin's electric aircraft making him fall and rumble down the stairs. Marv and Vera are then tricked by Kevin with a secret wall switch, end up swinging from a chandelier, and they fall and are knocked unconscious. When smugly wishing them a merry Christmas, Molly, having escaped from the elevator grabs Kevin threatening him with a pan, but Mr. Prescott knocks her out with a serving tray. Then he and Kevin call the police who then arrive at the same time the others arrive.
As Peter, Kate, Buzz and Megan arrive, Kevin, with Buzz and Megan's help, chases Marv and Vera out of the house and checkmates them. The royal family and Natalie arrive and Natalie is confused when she sees Molly getting arrested for her crimes. An FBI agent reveals that Molly confessed inside to have masterminded the plot to abduct the royal family. Everyone has a good Christmas as Peter breaks up with Natalie, Mr. Prescott resigns and it is a good Christmas for everyone, except for Natalie, Marv, Vera and Molly.

Four internationally wanted criminals, Peter Beaupre (Olek Krupa), Alice Ribbons (Rya Kihlstedt), Burton Jernigan (Lenny Von Dohlen), and Earl Unger (David Thornton) have stolen a valuable missile cloaking computer chip for a North Korean terrorist group. The thieves put it inside a toy remote control car to sneak it past security. At San Francisco International Airport, the grumpy Mrs. Hess (Marian Seldes) accidentally takes the bag with the remote control car in it while heading home to Chicago. The four thieves arrive in Chicago and systematically search every house in Mrs. Hess' suburban neighborhood to find the chip. Meanwhile, eight-year-old Alex Pruitt (Alex D. Linz) is given the remote control car by Mrs. Hess for shovelling snow, but soon becomes ill with the chicken pox and Alex must stay home. While at home, Alex is using his telescope when he spots Beaupre in one the houses and the others on look out. Alex calls the police but Beaupre leaves by the time they come. After Alex reports the thieves again, they still manage to get away, and the police do not believe him. Alex decides to take matters into his own hands, and mounts a camera on his remote control car and attempt to film some footages of the thieves, who are searching in every house to find the chip. Alex eventually films Beaupre, but the remote control car is discovered before it can get away and Beaupre takes the tape, leaving Alex without evidence. Wondering what the thieves want with a remote control car, Alex opens it and discovers the stolen chip and immediately calls Chicago's Air Force Recruitment Center and informs them about the chip while asking if they can forward the info about the chip to someone.
The thieves figure out that Alex has been watching them and decide to pursue him. As a snowstorm hits, they block off the road to the house, and Alice duct tapes Mrs. Hess to a porch chair in her garage and leaves the door open. By this point, Alex has armed his house with more violent booby traps and prepares to set them off with his pet rat, Doris and the loudmouthed parrot of his brother, Stan. After several break-in attempts, the thieves begin to pursue Alex. Alex runs to the attic and goes into the dumbwaiter down to the basement, and runs outside and calls to Alice, Jernigan and Unger. The thieves sees Alex and notice a trampoline below them. Jernigan and Unger jump, but the trampoline gives way and they fall into a frozen pool. Alice wriggles her way into the dumbwaiter chute, but falls down to the basement as Alex removed the bottom. Alex rescues Mrs. Hess and is cornered by Beaupre, but scares him off with a fake gun. Meanwhile, the FBI goes to Alex's school after being tipped off by the Air Force Recruitment Center. Alex's family brings the agents to their house, where the police arrest Alice, Jernigan, and Unger. However, Beaupre managed to escape and hides in the snow fort in the backyard. Stan's pet parrot drives the remote control car into the snow fort and threatens to light fireworks which are lined around the inside. Beaupre offers a cracker, but the parrot demands two. Since he only has one, the parrot then lights the fireworks, and escapes. Beaupre's cover is literally blown, and the police arrest him.
Sometime later, Alex and his family celebrate with his father returning. Mrs. Hess, who befriends Alex after he successfully rescues her, is there along with the FBI and the police while Alex's house is being repaired. In the final scene of the film, while the thieves are having their mugshot photos taken, they are revealed to have caught Alex's chicken pox.

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

The McCallister family prepares to spend Christmas in Miami, Florida. Ten-year-old Kevin, Peter and Kate's youngest son, sees Florida as contradictory to Christmas because of the lack of Christmas trees. During the school Christmas concert, Kevin's older brother Buzz humiliates him during his solo, causing Kevin to retaliate. Kevin refuses to apologize for his actions and, still angry with the family's decision to go to Florida, he storms up to the third floor bedroom of the house. During the night, Peter unknowingly resets the alarm clock and causes the family to oversleep. Meanwhile, a piece of newspaper is blown into the house's main door, revealing that the Wet Bandits, Harry Lyme and Marv Merchants, have escaped from detainment. In the confusion and rush to reach the airport on time, Kevin gets onto a flight to New York City, carrying Peter's bag containing his wallet and a large amount of money; the family does not realize it until after they land in Florida. In New York, Kevin tours the city and tricks the staff at the Plaza Hotel into giving him a room with Peter's credit card. During a visit to Central Park, Kevin is scared by the appearance of a woman tending to pigeons.
On Christmas Eve, Kevin tours the city in a limousine and visits a toy store where he meets its philanthropic owner, Mr. Duncan. Kevin learns that the proceeds from Christmas sales will be donated to a children's hospital. Duncan gives Kevin a pair of ceramic turtledoves as a gift, instructing him to give one to another person as a sign of eternal friendship. After encountering the Wet Bandits, Kevin is chased to the hotel. Mr. Hector, the hotel concierge, confronts Kevin about the credit card which has been reported stolen. Kevin flees, but is captured by the Wet Bandits. They discuss plans for robbing the toy store that night, before Kevin manages to escape.
The McCallisters travel to New York after locating the stolen credit card and Kate searches the city for Kevin. Meanwhile, Kevin goes to his Uncle Rob's townhouse. After arriving he finds the house vacant and undergoing renovations and that his uncle and his family are in Paris. In Central Park, he comes across the pigeon lady. When Kevin gets his foot caught while running away, she frees him. The pair observe a local orchestra performance together and Kevin learns how her life has fallen apart and how she dealt with it by taking care of the pigeons in the park. Kevin vows to the pigeon lady that he will be her friend.
Kevin later returns to the townhouse and rigs it with various booby traps. Kevin arrives at the toy store during Harry and Marv's break in, throws a brick through the window to set off the store's alarm, and leads the pair to the townhouse. After the two spring numerous traps, Kevin calls the police. The Wet Bandits catch Kevin and take him to Central Park. The pigeon lady incapacitates the bandits with her pigeons and Kevin sets off fireworks he had bought earlier to signal the police. Harry and Marv are arrested, while at the toy store, Mr. Duncan finds a note from Kevin attached to the brick explaining what had happened.
Meanwhile, Kate remembers Kevin's fondness for Christmas trees. Kevin makes a wish at the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. Kate finds him there and the two reconcile. On Christmas morning, a truckload of gifts arrive at the McCallister's hotel room from the toy store. Kevin and Buzz make peace and Buzz allows him to open up the first present. Kevin goes to Central Park to give the pigeon lady the second turtledove. At the hotel, Buzz receives the bill for Kevin's stay. Kevin hears Peter call out "Kevin, you spent $967 on room service", at which point he runs off.

                               Ghost Rider

In the American Old West, the Devil, Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda), sends his bounty hunter of the damned, the Ghost Rider, to retrieve a contract for a thousand corrupt souls. Given that the nature of the contract would give Mephisto the power to bring Hell to Earth, the Rider refuses to give him the contract.
A century and a half later, Mephisto reaches out to 17-year-old stunt motorcycle rider Johnny Blaze (Matt Long), offering to cure his father's lung cancer in exchange for Johnny's soul. Johnny inadvertently 'signs' the contract. The next morning Johnny awakes to discover that his father's cancer is cured, but his father is killed that same day in a motorcycle crash. Johnny accuses Mephisto of causing his father's death, but Mephisto considers their contract fulfilled.
Years later, Johnny (Nicolas Cage) has become a famous stunt rider. Johnny meets his childhood sweetheart Roxanne (Eva Mendes), now a journalist, and he makes a dinner date with her that evening. During the same time, Blackheart (Wes Bentley), the demonic son of Mephisto, comes to Earth, along with the hidden Gressil, Abigor, and Wallow, a group of three fallen angels. They are demons who, after being exiled from heaven by Saint Michael, hid themselves in the elements on Earth. They are tasked by Blackheart to find the lost contract of San Venganza.
In response, the Devil makes Johnny the new Ghost Rider, and offers Johnny his soul back in return for defeating Blackheart. Johnny is driven straight to the station on his "first ride" where he transforms fully into the Ghost Rider and a fight ensues. In the process, Johnny acquires a heavy chain, which he uses to kill Gressil. While searching for the quarry, Ghost Rider hears a woman being mugged. He stops the mugger and uses his most powerful weapon on him, the Penance Stare; a power by which a person's soul is subjected to all the pain they have ever caused others. The mugger ends up in a catatonic state, worse than death, which is implied to be the "burning" of his soul.
Johnny wakes in a cemetery chapel, where he meets a man called the Caretaker (Sam Elliott), who seems to know all the history of the Ghost Rider. When he arrives home, Johnny finds Roxanne and reveals himself as the Devil's bounty hunter. She leaves in anger and disbelief at his tale. As Roxanne leaves, the police arrive and take Johnny into custody for his connection to the damage done to the city and the deaths caused by Blackheart. He is put in a holding cell with some other prisoners, who mock Johnny and beat him before he assumes his Ghost Rider form, knocking the prisoners down before taking one of their jackets and, after recognizing the only one who made no attempt to harm him as "innocent", he leaves to hunt down Blackheart. That night, Roxanne recognizes Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider form fighting and defeating Abigor (the second of the three fallen angels accompanying Blackheart) in full view of the city and a large police force. Johnny faces the police and then leaves. Observing the scene after obtaining the location of the contract, Blackheart realizes that Roxanne is Johnny's weakness.
Johnny goes to the Caretaker for advice, who tells him of his predecessor, Carter Slade, a Texas Ranger known as a man of honor before his greed became a reason for him to be sentenced to death. Slade made a deal with Mephisto to break free; in return, Slade became the Ghost Rider who hid the contract of San Venganza. The Caretaker then warns Johnny to stay away from those whom Blackheart can use against him. Johnny then returns home to find that Blackheart has killed his friend Mack (Donal Logue) and already has Roxanne. During their resulting fight, Johnny finds that his Penance Stare has no effect on Blackheart, who has no soul to burn. Blackheart threatens to kill Roxanne if Johnny does not deliver the contract to him.
Johnny returns to the Caretaker to obtain the contract. Johnny guesses that the contract is buried in one of the graves. He picks up a shovel and prepares to dig, until the Caretaker snatches the shovel and breaks it, revealing the contract hidden in its hollow handle. The Caretaker then reveals that he is Carter Slade, having held on to his last bit of power in expectation of this moment. He tells Johnny that he (Johnny) is more powerful and unpredictable than his predecessors because Johnny sold his soul for "the right reason," for love rather than greed, and the two leave for San Venganza. They ride together into the desert, both in Ghost Rider form. They stop a short distance from the town, where Slade gives Johnny his lever action shotgun, and the warning to "stick to the shadows" before fading away.
After killing Wallow (the third of the fallen angels accompanying Blackheart), Johnny gives the contract to Blackheart. He quickly transforms into Ghost Rider in an effort to subdue Blackheart, but dawn comes and he is rendered powerless. Blackheart uses the contract to absorb the thousand souls into his body, referencing the Biblical demon Legion. He attempts to kill Johnny, but is distracted when Roxanne uses Johnny's discarded shotgun to separate them. After she fails to destroy Blackheart, Johnny takes the gun and moves into the shadows; the shotgun turns into a supernatural weapon that shoots hellfire and blasts Blackheart apart. Blackheart re-forms, but Johnny moves in and uses his Penance Stare, made effective by the thousand souls inhabiting Legion's body, to render him catatonic. Johnny turns away from Roxanne, ashamed of his monstrous appearance, but she says she is not afraid, causing Johnny to return to his human self.
Mephistopheles appears and gives Johnny his soul, offering to take back the curse of the Ghost Rider. Johnny refuses, saying that he will use his power against Mephistopheles, and against all harm that comes to the innocent. Infuriated of being robbed of the power, Mephistopheles vows to make Johnny pay, to which Johnny in response recites his favorite saying: "You can't live in fear". Mephistopheles then disappears, taking Blackheart's body with him. Johnny and Roxanne share some parting words at the tree on which Johnny carved "J&R FOREVER" at the beginning of the film. Roxanne then tells Johnny that he got his second chance before sharing a final kiss with him. Johnny then rides away on his motorcycle, now a legend in his own right.

Carl Fredricksen (Edward Asner) adalah bocah pendiam yang bersahabat dengan cewek Tomboy bernama Ellie, yang ternyata sama-sama mengidolakan Charles Muntz, seorang penjelajah. Kemudian Carl dan Ellie menikah. Kehidupan mereka yang diperlihatkan tanpa adegan berbicara terlihat sangat bahagia, dengan musik yang ceria dan obsesi pertama mereka adalah memiliki anak. Setelah mempersiapkan segalanya, kenyataan berubah ketika Ellie dinyatakan oleh dokter bahwa ia tidak dapat hamil. Sesaat musik menjadi lebih lambat dan sedih, namun kembali menjadi semangat saat Carl dan Ellie berusaha menyisihkan pendapatan mereka untuk terbang ke Paradise Falls, tempat Charles Muntz tadi. Namun, tetap saja halangan selalu muncul sehingga mereka selalu memakai uang dari tabungan tadi, sampai akhirnya mereka berdua menjadi kakek-nenek. Carl, yang menyadari obsesi mereka belum tercapai membeli tiket ke Amerika Selatan, dan ingin memberikan kejutan untuk Ellie. Namun, sebelum impiannya tercapai, Ellie terlebih dahulu meninggal dunia. Hal ini menyebabkan Carl benar-benar kehilangan semangat hidup dan menjadi pendiam dan tertutup.
Pagi itu, seperti biasanya Carl bangun pagi dan menjalankan aktivitasnya. Ia keluar, duduk dikursi rumahnya yang telah dikelilingi sebuah pekerjaan konstruksi, mengisyaratkan bahwa rumahnya juga akan digusur sebentar lagi. Ia pergi untuk mengecek kotak surat, dan sempat berbincang-bincang dengan salah satu pekerja konstruksi. Saat sedang menonton TV, ia bertemu dengan Russell (Jordan Nagai), seorang pramuka yang bersemangat dan akan membantunya melakukan apa saja. Setelah ditipu oleh Carl, Russell pergi dan Carl melihat kotak suratnya hampir lepas karena ditabrak sebuah tronton. Carl marah dan memukul salah satu petugas, yang melukai kepalanya - membuatnya diseret ke pengadilan dan akhirnya hak untuk rumah dan tanahnya jatuh ke tangan bos dari pekerja konstruksi tadi. Setelah itu, ia dikabarkan bahwa besok pagi akan dijemput oleh panti jompo. Saat ia akan membereskan pakaiannya, ia melihat buku petualangan dari Ellie dan menyadari apa yang tidak dilakukannya. Malam berlalu dan pagi datang.
Petugas panti jompo telah siap di depan rumah Carl, dan Carl meminta sedikit waktu untuk berpamitan pada rumahnya. Saat petugas tadi menuju mobil, ternyata rumah Carl telah dipasangi sepuluh ribu balon gas helium, tekanan balon yang sangat kuat membuat retakan diseluruh bagian bawah rumah, dan menerbangkan rumah tersebut. Carl bersuka cita karena ia berhasil memindahkan rumahnya dan Ellie dan bersiap untuk terbang ke Paradise Falls. Saat sedang santai di dalam rumahnya, ia terkejut mendengar ketukan pintu yang sama saat Russell datang tadi. Ia sempat tidak mengacuhkannya, namun akhirnya ia buka pintunya dan menyadari bahwa Russell benar-benar terbawa bersamanya. Dan dimulailah petualangan mereka, pertama mereka menghadapi sebuah awan hujan dan petir, yang menyebabkan Carl pingsan. Setelah ia sadar, ia tahu bahwa ia telah sampai di Paradise Falls, namun tidak bisa kembali kedalam rumahnya karena ia terjatuh. Lalu ia dan Russell berjalan sambil membawa rumah tersebut dengan menariknya dengan tali menuju ke tengah-tengah Paradise Falls,tempat dimana dia dapat melihat air terjunnya jatuh secara nyata.
Di hutan, Russell menemukan Kevin, seekor burung raksasa yang menyerupai burung unta, dan mereka menjadi sahabat baik karena Kevin menyukai cokelat, dan Russell punya banyak coklat. Carl sempat tidak menyukai Kevin, sampai ia bertemu lagi dengan Dug, seekor anjing yang dapat bicara dengan sebuah translate collar. Mereka berempat mengalami petualangan, sementara Doug mempunyai tiga teman (atau musuh) anjing yang diberi nama Alfa, Beta, dan Delta. Lalu Carl tahu bahwa yang mempunyai Doug, Alfa, Beta, Delta, dan anjing-anjing lainnya adalah Charles Muntz, pahlawannya dari kecil. Charles Muntz yang diusir oleh masyarakat kota tempat asalnya karena telah dianggap menyebarkan berita bohong tentang makhluk asing dari Paradise Falls,yang ternyata bukannya kebohongan, ia mempunyai susunan tulang tersebut, dan akhirnya Carl menyadari bahwa tulang tersebut sangat mirip dengan Kevin. Saat Charles Muntz tahu bahwa Carl memiliki Kevin, ia menyuruh anjing-anjingnya untuk mengejar Carl dan Russell serta Kevin yang melarikan diri. Mereka sempat akan tertangkap, namun gagal tertangkap karena bantuan dari Doug. Setelah sempat selamat, Charles Muntz benar-benar menyudutkan mereka dan berhasil mendapatkan Kevin, sementara Carl memutuskan untuk tidak menyelamatkan Kevin dan tinggal di Paradise Falls.
Carl, yang kembali menemukan buku petualangan dari Ellie, melihat bahwa kali ini yang dilakukannya juga salah, saat ia melihat berbagai foto-fotonya dan Ellie saat mereka masih bersama. Lalu ia melihat tulisan Ellie "Thanks for the adventure. Got a New one! Ellie." dan sadar bahwa ia harus menyelamatkan Kevin. Ia lalu keluar untuk bicara dengan Russell yang kesal terhadapnya, namun ternyata Russell sudah pergi duluan mengejar kapal raksasa Muntz dengan balon-balon dari rumah Carl. Carl berusaha menyusul Russell, yang ternyata disana tertangkap oleh Muntz. Setelah menyelamatkan Russell, ia menyelamatkan Kevin, namun bertarung dengan Muntz. Setelah Russell membawa rumah Carl ke atas kapal raksasa tempat Carl, Kevin dan Doug berada, mereka bersiap untuk pergi, namun Muntz menembaki balon dirumahnya dengan senapan. Carl tidak dapat bergerak karena ia menahan tali rumah tersebut, namun setelah ia mengecoh Muntz, ia menyuruh Russell, Kevin dan Doug untuk berpegangan ditali yang ia pegang, sementara Muntz jatuh dari ketinggian, menyebabkan kematiannya. Mereka bersuka cita karena berhasil membuat Muntz kalah, namun Carl merasa sedih karena rumahnya dan Ellie jatuh dari ketinggian tersebut.
Russell dan Carl, pulang ketempat asalnya dengan kapal raksasa Muntz dan mereka menghadiri upacara yang diikuti Russell. Russell mengangkat Carl sebagai ayah angkatnya, sementara Kevin sudah pulang ketempat asalnya dan Dug menjadikan Carl sebagai pemilik barunya. Mereka makan es krim dikedai es krim, sambil bermain-main menebak warna mobil. Dug, Carl, dan Russell hidup bahagia, sementara saat kembali ke Paradise Falls, rumah Carl dan Ellie mendarat dengan sempurna di Paradise Falls, tepat seperti yang mereka impikan.
Selama kredit, beberapa foto menampilkan kehidupan Carl setelah petualangan tersebut, sebagai kakek angkat Russell.
